Summer Camp memories are among the greatest for the children we serve in Romania who get to spend an unforgettable week with teams, staff and volunteers at “Tabara LOC” (Camp Livada) each year. For many, this is the one week of the year that they leave the dark and often frightening world inside the walls of the orphanage or the uneventful world of their group home. For most this is the only time they truly feel safe, loved and free to just be kids! Camp is the only place that we are completely free to share the gospel and the love of Christ openly with many children in state care. We are limited in several state care situations as to what we are allowed to say and do.

Our staff is always looking for open doors to share God's love and plan for their lives with these children. During camp each summer, these doors swing wide open and Christ's love and truth from God's word are shared openly.

Camp is also a whole lot of fun... with crafts, outdoor recreation, American & European teams loving on them, tree climbs, a zip line, story time, Bible memory verses, team competitions, fun times with staff that invest in them throughout the year and more... Camp with Livada makes memories that will last a lifetime!

Camp Vetca

In March 2007, we purchased a beautiful piece of property on the edge of a village called Vetca (pronounced Vets - ka). This new camp property is only 45 minutes outside of Targu Mures. From March to June there was a flurry of activity at Vetca building fences, digging wells, building buildings and more. Under the leadership of The Coles, with the help of several construction teams and with gifts from Great Britain, Canada and the United States... God worked in amazing ways to bring Vetca from an open field to a camp ready to host hundreds of children and teens during the summer of 2007.

We have no doubt that the children and teams will continue to LOVE camping out in the M*A*S*H style tents and having club time in the BIG TOP TENT! This is a true “camping” experience and we are thankful for all of you who will be joining us... we anticipate many more wonderful summers at our new LOC Summer Camp... CAMP VETCA!
